Dutch Wonderland, 2014 edition

We'd been talking all spring about getting back up to Dutch Wonderland before the summer heat and crowds kicked in, so we played hooky from school and work on Friday and headed up.  The last time we had been was in 2011.  It was the absolute perfect day for it - warm but not sweltering, and there were no crowds at all!  I think the longest the boys waited in line was one ride, and often they could stay on and go again if they wanted.  A great time was had by all.

We rode the train first, so the boys could see all there was to offer.  We were pretty excited!

Hudson rode a space shuttle thing (by himself!)  first, so G & E went straight to the planes "with guns!!"

There was no one in line so they stayed on and Hudson joined them.

The bigs rode the hand-petaled trains . . .

. . . and then we moved on to the monster trucks.

The slides were another hit for the big boys {poor E wasn't tall enough to even accompany an adult},

. . . but the bulldozers were a 2-timer hit!

Another flying ride was in order . . .

. . . before we moved on to the "fashioned" cars.

Let there be hair!

It took a little convincing, but both big boys went on the little roller coaster, and when Hudson and Rich moved on to the "big" one (still pretty small in the scheme of things) G rode the little one alone twice.  They were ready to move on to the water park, but Rich convinced G to do the big one once, too.  He's always hesitant but ended up loving it!

It was about 85 but there was a breeze, so the water park almost proved to be too chilly, but per usual, they didn't notice or care.

I think we can cancel this one's paternity test, too.

We all had a great day, and after we closed the park down {at 6} we headed on up to pick up Mimi for the week.  We got back home about 1am, stole a few hours of sleep, and were off to the final coach pitch game of the season.  More about that, though, soon . . .
